Passages, ancient and eternal

Passages, ancient and eternal, lead us from one incarnation to another:

Long, straight, clear paths that lead us always onward,

Ferries crossing over mystical rivers taking voyagers to the misty, distant shore,

Ladders climbing out of small dark spaces that incubate our spirits while we wait for our new forms to take shape, and which we climb, blinking against the light, to emerge into the world again.

There are many paths that lead from this life to the next, and though we walked a while together, mine is not the same as yours.

Our paths diverged, and the journey continues, always, through these passages, ancient and eternal.

We are never truly still.
