Close your eyes…

ladyslipperbee.jpg

Is it the edge of the knife that you feel, lightly, tracing an arc across your skin? Or is it just my fingernail?

Is the pressure getting stronger, and will it pierce the tender, swollen, flesh? Or will it draw back in time?

You can’t be sure, eyes closed as they are. Body tied and taut, you are securely in my hands, at my mercy, trusting and safe and not at all certain what comes next.

All you know for sure is tingly skin, sharp edges, tender, swollen flesh.

Breathe.

Wait.

Patience may not be a virtue but right now it is all you have.

A Birthday Feast will continue shortly. Patience. Dessert is being prepared!

  1. Both the image and the imagery are perfectly evocative of the knife and the feast, and I find I can’t decide whether I’m more captivated by the blade or the handle, what is being done to me, or done without me.
